Five Famous Writers Who Died Poor – A Brief of them and their books.

Five Famous Writers Who Died Poor

No matter how hard you work or how distinguished your skills are, monetary success isn’t something that everyone achieves in their lives. That being said, there have been several writers in the history who’ve been great at what they did, but ended up dead, broke. In this short write-up, you’re going to learn about 5 of these writing freaks who died poor.

  1. Edgar Allan Poe:

Poe was an American writer, poet, editor, and literary critic who was born on the 19th of January, 1809, and died on 7th October, 1849. He was very well-known for his skills in poetry and writing short stories on the topics of fiction and mystery. He’s also termed as the inventor of the modern short stories.

Allan’s parents were well-known actors, and both of them died before Allan was 3 even years old. He was raised in the house of John Allan, who was a well-known exporter at Richmond. While Poe is prominently known for his short stories, his first love as a writer was poetry. He wasn’t well-acclaimed for his work during his lifetime, but he indeed earned a lot bit of respect for a gifted story-writer after he was gone.

  1. Henry David Thoreau:

Henry was born in 1817 in Concord, Massachusetts. He took Ralph Waldo Emerson as his mentor and friend in the 1840s and began his nature poetry career. He’s one of the most acclaimed natural and philosophical English literature freaks of American history but that didn’t help him earn a fortune during his lifetime.

  1. H.P. Lovecraft:

American history is filled with the names of writers whose work was underappreciated or even not appreciated at all, during their lifetimes. One of these names is H.P. Lovecraft, who was a superb fantasy writer and who died at the age of 46, in 1937. After his death, he was very acclaimed for his “cosmic horror” writings — but his last days were as bland and bleak as they could be.

  1. Franz Kafka:

Another one of the names who didn’t get the recognition they deserved during their lifetimes is Franz Kafka. He’s another one of these fantasy maniacs who were great at what they were doing as English literature freak. He’s well known for his critically acclaimed novels like “Der Prozess”.

  1. Emily Dickinson:

Termed as one of the most “original” and greatest American poets of all time, Emily Dickinson had whatever it takes to be great at writing jaw-dropping poetry. But just like the other names on this list, she didn’t the recognition that she had to get during her lifetime. She was one of the critical writers who detected the limitations of their society and provided potential fixes for them through their words.
